FOOT AND TRANS-TIBIAL PROSTHESIS

Lower limb deficiency can be come off by many disease, trauma, and amputation (after a trauma).

One of the most important function of the lower limb is underpinning. Foot can be supplied functionally and aesthetically by a simple passive device like silicone prosthesis.

In case of a higher level of amputation unfortunately the underpinning function of the remaining part of foot cannot prevail, so the leg must take over this function.

Bellow knee stump fits to a prosthesis, which is made of acrylate (inside and outside). This prosthesis is for supply the limb aesthetically and functionally too.

These prostheses can be equipped with various active feet.

One lassical instance of lower limb prostheses is a shin prosthesis. The prosthetic structure is very artless. A simple tube connects the acrylate scone and the foot. In this case the foot can be either unbending or dynamic.

The Harmony System - which was patented by Otto Bock - makes an automatic pump operation during loading of the prosthesis, to make stronger the vaacuum effect between the stump and the scone, resolving a better fixation.
