ANKLE BRACE
| Indications: fixation after fraction of the ankle and around, after wound healing, fracture of the external side of ankle (external ankle peak), fracture of the internal side of ankle (internal ankle peak), split of the ankle ligaments. |
| |
Ankle-leg braces made based on an individual sizing procedure are helpful in the cases of desperate injuries of the lower limb.
Peroneus orthosis, which prohibits the swinging of the foot can be applicable in the case of peromeus injury.
Peroneus orthosis can be worn in shoes, the fixation is solved with a velcro.
Another way of engagement of the orthoses is the fixation of the ankle and the leg, and underpinning.
This needs to make a socket (made by thermoplastic material), wich rigidly fixes the ankle joint.
Various mottled materials can be chosen to cover the plastic socket, this makes the orthosis more aesthetic.
Usually this types of braces can be worn with shoes. |

Injuries of the ankle occures in almost every time of the year. Ankle joint problems are frequent in summer because of accidents during an excursion or making a slip, and in winter because of the slippy roads.
Sized orthoses with variant types of fixations and with variant rigidity help to recover the elongated, strained ligaments.
They can be useful at the conservative treatment of injuries, and convalescent, saving, habituative treatment after surgery.
The simplest types of them parcel supply the ankle joint with an elastic textile.
Rigid orthoses splint the injured ankle.
Ankle orthoses are sized orthoses, so it can be chosen by the circumference of the ankle, which size is suitable.
Orthoses are velcro fixed in a large measure, but there are versions with lace.
Many ankle braces are metal-reinforced to reach a proper retention (fixation).
Orthoses made by textile can be easily washed by hand, and can be worn in shoes. |
